ArtyGirlz 'Ribbons' Challenge
The challenge at ArtyGirlz this week is to use ribbons on your project and they have some fab goodies up for grabs.
I fancied a change from card making as I have been doing that all morning so I decided to try out stamping on a candle. I tried to stamp on a larger candle at first but it wasn't very smooth (had anybody got any tips?) so I went for a smaller image and candle. I have used a Penny Black image which I coloured with watercolours and I have added a bright orange ribbon. These are such fun to make but 1 word of warning my candle melted a bit round the top and I didn't notice and poured the hot wax on my hand - not a good idea!!

Oh Andrea this is just gorgeous !!! I haven't made a candle like this for several years. Makes me want to do one lol
The way I do mine is I stamp and color my image on white tissue paper. I then take a large enough piece of waxed paper and wrap around that candle as tight as I can hold it. Then heat with my heat gun keeping the wax paper tight. This keeps it smooth. hope that helps some dear

Lovely candle. I have tried stamping on a candle but found it too difficult, yours looks great. Have been told that it's best to stamp on one layer of tissure paper and then add it to the candle by melting it into the candle.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog.

Ouch! hope it wasn't too hot. Love the end result though. I've still got a plain candle sitting on my desk waiting! x
