CCT Stamping Crazy

The theme at CCT this week is Stamping Crazy. My son is off to Paris on a school trip in the summer so I made a French themed tag for his birthday. I cut the tag from Stampin Up cream card and stamped the background with various Tim Holtz stamps and then used Vintage Photo Distress Ink for the colour. The harlequin stamp is a very old Hero Arts one which I heat embossed to add a bit of texture. I cut the Eiffel Tower and Fleur De Lys from white card using a Tim Holtz die and then I embossed them with the corresponding texture folder. I then coloured the shapes with Tarnished Brass Distress stain and when dry I went over the top with Black Soot Distress Ink. I can't take the credit for this technique as I saw it on a blog but the results are so effective I shall definitely be doing some more. The sentiment is also Tim Holtz and the word strips are from Darkroom Door.

I really enjoyed making the tag and hopefully will get to spend more time crafting now.

CCT Whats New

I can't believe its 2015 already, I hope you all had a good Xmas and new year. The theme at CCT this week is What's New? We would like you to use some of your new crafty goodies to make a card or project. I have used a new Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers die for my very quick card and a Darkroom Door sentiment.

My Xmas present to myself this year was this

Boris Big Shot Pro!

I did quite a few nights overtime before Xmas and have been after one of these for a few years now so decided to treat myself. It really is easy to use although it takes up a lot of room. Just need more time to play with it now.

CCT Button Up

The challenge at CCT this week is Button Up, we'd like to see some buttons on your cards. I have used Stampin Up DP on my card and an old giraffe image which I got as part of a set from QVC well over 10 years ago probably more like 15 and I'm afraid to say its the first time it has seen ink!! I distressed the DP with Antique Linen Distress Ink and added a Darkroom Door sentiment. The button is from Etsy and the twine from Stampin Up. Another very quick card.

I hope you'll be able to join in this weeks challenge as we have a great prize from Whimsy Stamps. Have a good week.
